By decision support we mean the ability of a system to provide relevant information in a useful form.

Strangely, systems often carry plenty of raw data in them but managers cannot get the information out in a particularly useful form without putting in several hours of further analysis.

Since our aim is to provide not just software but solutions, we are particularly keen to learn what you need your systems to tell you in order for you to make rational decisions. Wherever possible routine decisions can be built into the system's object model so that a decision point can be automated.

Alternatively, we will design user interfaces according to what your people need to see in order to make informed decisions. Since we provide bespoke solutions, we have not already decided what you need to know. Making decisions based on where the profit lies in your business is not always a simple thing to see, particularly where you are manufacturing bespoke products, and different views into and analysis of all the 'data' may be needed. Given our background in operations we are as interested in discovering how your business makes money as you are.

Proactive nature of RTIS applications

At RTIS we believe that IT systems should be proactive. Instead of having a system that simply receives updates to the information, and can tell you information that you specifically request, the system should alert users to actions that are required. We have a number of powerful examples of projects we have done for other clients, where the staff are not required to go and look for a problem (or opportunity) to find out that it exists. Instead the issue will be presented to them by the system.
